Ink & Pixels

While I have a deep appreciation for paper and ink, I’m equally at home with digital tools—which can sometimes make the creative process a bit quicker.

Wood & Wire

Creating with my hands is the ultimate joy. Wood, in particular, is a favorite material—it’s warm, tactile, and the smell is unbeatable.

I love sharing my passions with others, which is why I host workshops and classes focused on paper, wood, and nature.

The Workshop Oficina do Erro

Workshop Oficina do Erro

My creative base is “Oficina do Erro,” which translates to “Workshop of the Mistake.” Here, mistakes aren’t just accepted; they’re valued as essential stepping stones in the learning process. The name also plays on the Portuguese word errar, which means both “to make mistakes” and “to roam or explore aimlessly”—perfectly capturing my approach to creativity.

The Work

To keep things organized, I’ve divided my work into three main areas: 2D, 3D, and education.

Ink & Pixels

This section showcases my 2D work, including drawings, books (which might stretch the definition of 2D, but you get the idea), and screen prints that I both designed and printed.

Wood & Wire

Here, you’ll find my 3D creations. While I once modeled in 3D digitally, I now find building with my hands much more rewarding, whether it’s crafting furniture for my workshop or creating educational pieces for museums.

Learning is a constant for me, and I enjoy passing that on to others. I can teach you how to make and understand a boomerang, draw from observation, or recognize the autumn call of a European robin. Find out more here.

About Me

I graduated in Architectural Design from the Faculdade de Arquitectura de Lisboa and later completed postgraduate studies in Publishing at the Portuguese Catholic University. In 2007, I co-founded the publishing house Qual Albatroz with José Carlos Dias, where I work as an editor focused on graphic design, layout, and illustration.

I view the role of an editor as inherently educational and am passionate about promoting reading in my community. I also teach drawing and champion traditional crafts such as screen printing, engraving, bookbinding, and woodworking, hosting workshops to make these skills accessible to a wide audience.

My love of learning led me to found Oficina do Erro at Fábrica da Pólvora de Barcarena, a collaborative space for hands-on experimentation with wood, screen printing, and more. My work blends humor with minimalism and draws inspiration from both nature and illustration.
